Laird - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 6, 1963 Service For J. P. Laird Held Friday Laird, 59, who died unexpectedly Wednesday of last week while working were held at 10 a. m. at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Laird, a native of Flora, Miss. had lived in Tallulah for the past 14 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. The Rev. Oster Daniels conducted the services at the First Baptist Church here with burial following in Flora, Miss. The Rev James Walker officiated at the graveside. Burial was under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Celeste Laird, Tallulah; three daughters, Mrs. B. B. Stegall, Flora, Miss., Mrs. Emerson Smith, Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Paul McKeller, Atlanta Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Cola V. Kelly, Atlanta, Ga.., one brother, Joe D. Laird, Florence, Miss.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Raymond Harris, L. L. Childress, W. M. Malone, William Thigpen, A. N. Duke, Maxwell Yerger, Rufus Yerger
