A. Lancaster Wallace Alfonse Lancaster died Thursday, March 9 at his plantation home south of Tallulah at the age of 72. He was born in Smith County, Miss., and has lived in this parish since 1927, where he has been engaged in planting since that time. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, March 10 at four o'clock from the Tallulah Methodist Church, with Rev. Henry A. Rickey officiating. Mr. Lancaster was a Mason and member of the Methodist Church. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery with pallbearers, Warren Buford, Lyn Naylor, Jim Parker, E. H. Fisher, Elmer Neill and R. B. Watts. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Herman B. Lancaster of Tallulah, and MM 2/c Wallace P. Lancaster of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; one grandson, S 2/c Wallace E. Lancaster of Great Lakes Training Station; one sister, Miss Maggie Lancaster of Bolton, Miss. and seven brothers, Walter of Wisner; Johnny of Bolton, Miss.; Claude of Waterproof; Oscar of Dermott, Ark.; Edgar of Tallulah; Otto of Ferriday, and C. D., of Bolton, Miss.
