All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Mary Ellis Chapman Lee - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 31, 1972 Rites today for Mrs. Lee Mrs. Mary Ellis Chapman Lee, 59, of Tallulah died Tuesday morning in the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. today at the First Methodist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. David Corley, assisted by Fr. Gilles Boyer, officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Lee, the daughter of Dr. William Jesse Chapman and Margaret Clark Chapman, was a native of Newton, Miss. She was a graduate of Ruleville High School and attended Delta State Teachers College in Cleveland, Miss. She and J. C. (Buddy) Lee were married in 1933 in Lake Village. Ark. and moved to Tallulah, where they made their home ever since. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was a former secretary with the U. S. Department of Agriculture. She is survived by her husband; four sons; James C. Lee Jr. of Houston, Tex.; Dr. John David Lee with the U. S. Air Force in Japan; Dr. Chapman Lee of New Orleans and Edwin Ellis Lee of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Miss Marquerite Chapman of Truman, Ark. and Mrs. Rebecca Ringold of Cleveland, Miss.: and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the four sons, Dr. Pete Walker of Cleveland and George Maida of Houston. Tex. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent either to the Madison Parish Hospital Memorial Fund or to the Multiple Sclerosis Fund.
