All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ James Coates Lewis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 16, 1975 Funeral services for James Coates Lewis of Tallulah were held at it --:-- -----ay in the chapel of Crothers Home with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery in Sanford, Miss., with Masonic rites. Mr. Lewis died Saturday morning at his home after a long illness. He was native of Collins, Miss. and a Tallulah resident for four years. He was a retired U.S. Army major with 39 years of service. He was a Shriner, a member of the masonic lodge, and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ivie Naylor Lewis of Tallulah, one step-son, Dr. Lynn Naylor of Decatur, Ala.., one brother, Claude Lewis of Quartz Hill, Calif.; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were the Sanford, Miss. Masonic Lodge.
