All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Jack Liddell - Madison Parish, LA From Tallulah Madison Journal September 10, 1954 Liddell Rites Are Held In Tallulah Services for Jack Liddell of Bastrop, a special deputy of Morehouse Parish and Colonel on Governor Robert Kennon's staff, who was found dead in a motel at West Point, Miss., Saturday afternoon, were held at the Methodist Church here Monday afternoon. The Rev. J. E. Hinkie and the Rev. R. H. Staples of Bastrop officiated and burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery here with Crothers Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. According to the coroner's inquest death was due to natural causes. Mr. Liddell, 47, was born in Mississippi, but had resided in Tallulah from 1930 until 1943 when he entered military service. On his return he made his home in Bastrop where he was engaged in insurance business. He was a Methodist, a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ola Mae Liddell, his mother, Mrs. Ada Warren of Pontotoc, Miss., and a sister, Mrs. Joe Harrey of Huntington, W. Va.
