Lipari - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 24, 1999 Funeral services for Mrs. Betty L. Lipari were held Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Portage Chapel, Portage, Mich., officiated by Rev. Phillip J. Friedrick of the Alma United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lipari was born in Tallulah and passed away March 15, in Michigan. She was the daughter of John Clark Byram and Ala Westmorland Byram. She graduated from Tallulah High School and attended Louisiana State Normal College. Most of Mrs. Lipari's last 50 years were spent in the Portage area. Her hobbies included sewing, bowling and antique collecting. More recently, she became an avid duplicate bridge player, achieving the rank of National Master in the American Bridge League. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and delighted in all of their accomplishments. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gaines and J. C. Byram. She is survived by her husband, Rock Lipari; daughter, Lori Lipari and her husband Chuck Jordan of Bangor, Mich.: son, Stephen Haynes of Honolulu, Hawaii: five grandchildren, Aly, Jeffrey, Kira, Wyatt and Patrick Lipari-Jordan; brother, George (Dorothy) Byram of Haynesville, La.: two sisters, Marguerite Whitehead of Shreveport, and Olga Mae (Otto) Horn of Tallulah: sister-in-law, Billie Byram of Tallulah, and many nieces and nephews. Burial followed at South Portage Cemetery under the direction of Langleland Funeral Homes.
