Lombardo - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 22, 1979 The funeral of Dr. Salvadore J. Lombardo, 72, of Tallulah was held in the St. Edward's Catholic of Tallulah with Monsignor Scanlon officiating. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. A rosary service was held at 7:30 Saturday in Crothers Funeral Home. Lombardo died Friday in the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans after a lengthy illness. He was a native of New Orleans and had been a resident of Tallulah for 50 years. Dr. Lombardo had practiced medicine as a dentist in Tallulah and was a member of the Louisiana Dental Association. He was a graduate of Tulane University, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the St. Edward's Catholic Church in Tallulah. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Scurria Lombardo of Tallulah; two sons, Dr. Andrew Lombardo of New Orleans and Samuel J. Lombardo Jr. of Tallulah; two sisters, Annette Lombardo and Mrs. Marrietta Lombardo Scurria both of Tallulah and a number of nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the St. Edward's Catholic Church building fund Pallbearers were Phil Scurria Jr., Gerald Scurria, Gene Cox, Billy Hodge, John Ulmer, Mike Cooper, George S. Weaver and Gerald Tonore.
