All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Anna Burney Long - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal November 27, 1936 Mrs. Anna Long Passes Away At Home In Delta Services for Mrs. Anna Burney Long, 82, who died at her home in Delta Friday night after a year's illness were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home in Delta at 2:30, with interment taking place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg at 3:30. The Rev. C. E. Woodson, rector of Christ Episcopal Church of Vicksburg officiated, assisted by the Rev. George A. A. Tocha of the Episcopal Church of Tallulah. Pallbearers were as follows: Honorary, R. K. Boney, Jeff B. Snyder, Andrew Sevier and Steve Voelker of Tallulah; George S. Yerger, Sr., Mounds; Dr. George Street, John Raworth, Edwards S. Butts, Nicholas Kahn and W. B. Levy of Vicksburg. Active: Claude Searles and Frank Thomas of Tallulah; James Aicklen, Scale Keefe and Claude Downing of Vicksburg and M. C. Calcote of Hamburg, Miss. Mrs. Long was born at Delta, March 10, 1855, and had resided in that town since. She was one of the oldest residents in the State of Louisiana. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Lillie May Long; two sons, Burney Long and George S. Long, all of Delta, and one sister, Mrs. T. T. Thomas of Memphis.
