W. Luckett dies after long illness William Wallace Luckett, 57, of Tallulah, died at his residence Monday afternoon following a long illness. Requim Mass was held at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the St. Edward's Catholic Church with Father Gillis Boyer officiating. A Christian wake service was held at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the Crothers Funeral Home Chapel here. Burial was held in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery. A native of Canton, Miss., Mr. Luckett had lived in Tallulah for the past 30 years and was a salesman for Service Novelty Co. of Newellton. He was also a member of the board of trustees at St. Edward's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearle Coates Luckett of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Carr III of Baton Rouge, and Miss Suzanne Luckett of Tallulah; one brother, Ret. Col. Gustus Luckett of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Louise Ross of Beltsville, Md. and one grandson. Pallbearers were Harry Don Morton, Ned Levee and Gerald Tonore, all of Tallulah, James Eads of Newellton, Frank Fragala of Waterproof, John Eldridge and Buster Maloney, both of Canton, Miss., and Buster Nichols of Vidalia.
