All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Morris Edward Machen - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 29, 1964 Services For Morris Machen Held Sunday Funeral services for Morris Edward Machen, 76, who died in a Vicksburg hospital Saturday after a brief illness were held at the Crothers Funeral Chapel at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Barney Holloway officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. John A. Tims. Burial followed in Cypress Creek Cemetery at Dodson, La., at 2:30 p.m. with Masonic rites at the graveside. A native of Winn Parish he had lived in Madison Parish for 36 years. He was a farmer, a Mason and a member of the New Home Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Machen; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Flurry of Sondheimer and Mrs. Novie Forest, Liberty, Texas; a step-daughter, Mrs. Joe Thornton of Sondheimer, La.; a son James Machen, Winnsboro; a step-son, Woodrow Graham of Delhi; two brothers, P. F. Machen and H. M. Machen both of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Frazier of Winnfield, and Mrs. W. E. Roberson of Tallulah; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were all nephews.
