Magee - Madison Parish, Louisiana From The Monroe News-Star October 23, 2013 Funeral services for Vondell R. Magee, age 90, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 24, 2013, in the chapel at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, La., with Rev. Larry Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton, under the direction of Crothers- Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the service. Mrs. Magee was born on July 30, 1923 in Sicily Island, La. She had retired after many years as the cafeteria manager at Tallulah High School. She died October 21, 2013, in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Magee was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Redd and Allie Barron Redd, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by sons, Ray Watts (Bobbye) of DeRidder, La., Al Watts (Sue) of Shreveport, La., and Mike Magee (Jane) of Tallulah, La., 1 brother-Ralph Redd (Lois) of Newellton, La., 1 sister-Elaine Benish of Little Rock, Ar., 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Vondell loved her family and was the one everyone called upon in time of need. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
