All rights reserved. ************************************************ R.E. “Hot” Manning Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, March 10, 2006 TALLULAH - R.E. “Hot” Manning Jr., died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 83. Mr. Manning was born in Drew, Miss. He had been a resident of Tallulah for more than 40 years. He owned and operated Manning and Son Repair Shop in Tallulah. He served as a veteran in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian H. Manning; one son, R.E. Manning III; two granddaughters, Regina Elizabeth and Rebecca Elaine Manning; and one daughter, Ruth Cagle. Survivors include one daughter, Geneva Tompkins of Utica; one daughter-in-law, Eloise Manning of Tallulah; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 this evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gene Ford Sr., Gene Fulton, Charles Turner, Tony Russell, Clay Denley and David Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be O.J. Sharpe, Sonny Franklin, Calvin Young, Clyde Perkins and Tim Perkins.
