Massey - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal February 15, 1995 Services for Herbert W. Massey were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial was at Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah in charge. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Massey died Friday, Feb.10, 1995, at the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. He was 80. He was a native of Rura Hill, Miss., and a lifelong resident of Tallulah. He owned and operated Massey Furniture Store and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Mr. Massey was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines, and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 and Masonic Lodge No. 308. He was a former Lions Club President and served on the Madison Parish Port Commission for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Miller Massey of Tallulah; two sons, Joseph C. Massey of Lafayette, La., and Thomas H. Massey of Seguin, Texas; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Neil, Leo Nelson, Joe K. Scott, Keith Post, Michael Lancaster, Frank Shelton, Keith Walley and John Massey.
