All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Frances Rea Mathis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal February 10, 1999 Funeral services for Frances Rea Mathis, age 82 of Tallulah, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Mrs. Mathis died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, in the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. She was born in Start, La., and had lived in Tallulah 44 years. She was a housewife and mother. She was a member of Mound Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons: James P. Mathis Jr. of Shreveport, Steve Nasif Mathis of El Dorado, Ark., Sam Keith Mathis of Tallulah and Kenneth Ray Mathis of Marietta, Ga.; eight daughters, Dorothy Jane Johnston of Shreveport, Sarah JoAnn Campbell, Ardrey Elaine Melton, Ruby Jeanette Edwards and Judy Francis Josey, all of Tallulah, Geraldine McClurg of Delta, Cynthia Jean Brinson of Monroe and Sheila Lynn Thomas of Bastrop; one brother, Pat Rutledge of Abilene, Texas; and two sisters, Maudell Coleman of Jonesville, La.. and Audrey Long of Bonita, La. Pallbearers were grandsons. Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
