All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************* Albert Matthews - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, February 26, 2010 TALLULAH — Albert Matthews died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Delhi Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Matthews was born in Delhi and had lived in Madison Parish most of his life. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Nell Matthews; a son, Albert “Baby” Matthews; and brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons, James Matthews of Newellton and Albert “Hank” Matthews of Simmons, La.; two daughters, Louise Saldana and Shelley Geddis, both of Tallulah; three sisters, Elmer Willhite and Armidy Cable, both of Tallulah, and Mary Evelyn Willhite of Columbia, La.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old Midway Baptist Church in Epps, La., with the Rev. Marlin Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the church.
