All rights reserved. ************************************************ Flora Matthews McCarty - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post October 5, 2002 TALLULAH - Flora Matthews McCarty died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 79. Mrs. McCarty was born in East Carroll Parish and had lived in Madison Parish for 65 years. A homemaker, she was a member of Willow Bayou Baptist Church. Survivors include four sisters, Elma Willhite and Arminda Cable, both of Tallulah, Mae Garsee of Alton, La., and Mary E. Willhite of Columbia, La.; two brothers, Johnie L. Matthew of Tallulah and Albert Matthews of Crowville, La.; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Willhite, Johnie L. Matthews III, Nathaniel L. Matthews II, Nathaniel L. Matthews Sr., John A. Willhite Jr., Basil A. McCarty and James A. Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert E. Matthews, Johnie L. Matthews IV, Hank Matthews and Glen Wilcox.
