M'DUFF, FORMER RESIDENT, PASSES FRIDAY TALLULAH, La., July 2-William F. McDuff, aged 72, a well-known Tensas Parish farmer died late Friday at his home on Lake Bruin. Mr. McDuff who had been ill for some time was the owner of a resort on the lake. He was a former resident of Vicksburg, Miss., having made his home in that city for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist church and had many friends throughout this section. He is survived by his wife and five children, Jack McDuff, Mack McDuff and Mrs. James Saunders all of Vicksburg; Mrs. W. C. White, Lake Bruin, and Fred W. McDuff of Tallulah. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Tallulah this morning at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. D. W. Poole, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. K. Smith, Methodist pastor of West Monroe. Interment was in the Silver Cross cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Almond, R. R. Spigener, A. J. Sevier, L. Z. Naylor and A. J. Boswell. From Madison Journal July 8, 1938 Father of F. W. McDuff Passes Away Friday W. F. McDuff, father of F. W. McDuff of Tallulah, died Friday, July 1 at his home on Lake Bruen just north of St. Joseph, after having been in ill health for several years. Mr. McDuff was a native of Ludlow, Miss., and located on Lake Bruen about eight years ago where he operated a camp for fishermen and engaged in farming. He was popular among the sportsmen of this section, as Lake Bruen is one of the famous fishing lakes. At the time of his death he was 72 years of age and is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. W. C. White of Lake Bruen and Mrs. James Saunders of Vicksburg, Miss., and four sons, G. B. McDuff of Hattiesburg, Miss.; F. W. McDuff of Tallulah; W. F. McDuff, Jr., and Jack McDuff of Vicksburg, Miss. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church here by Rev. C. Karlos Smith and Rev. D. W. Poole. Interment took place in the Silver Cross Cemetery Saturday morning.
