All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Norma Elizabeth McKay - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 17, 1959 Mrs. Norma McKay, Retired Teacher Dies; Rites Held Mrs. Norma Elizabeth McKay, 72, of Waverly, died Tuesday morning after a long illness. She was a retired teacher, having taught in Madison Parish for over 30 years, and was a former principal of Waverly Elementary School. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Services were held from the Delhi Methodist Church Thursday at 10:00 A. M., with the Revs. Don Wineinger and Sam Holliday officiating. Burial followed in the Serepta Cemetery near Port Gibson, Miss. Mrs. McKay is survived by two sons, Frank of Waverly and George McKay, of Baton Rouge, three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Mercer, Winnfield; Mrs. Hortense Wichman, Summit, Miss.; and Mrs. Leo Burls, Memphis, Tenn., two brothers, Everett Gilleylen, Liberty, Miss.; Cantrell Gilleylen, Detroit, Michigan and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jorn Gowan, John Robinson, Jr., Goldie Coltharp, Jack Milliken, Roy Hammett and Joel Wilson.
