All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************** Julia Swoope McKee - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tuscaloosa (AL) News December 7, 2009 REFORM (AL) Julia Swoope McKee, age 88, of Reform, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Homeplace of Columbus. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Reform First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Sam Andreasen officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, Miss. with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her infant son, William Henry McKee, Jr.; her parents; and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Julia Ann McKee McDill of Columbus, Miss.; son, William "Buster" McKee and his wife, Melba of Reform; six grandchildren, Tracy McKee Robertson (Barry) of Northport, Julia Michelle Glidewell (Steve) of Corinth, Miss., Brandy Harris Murphy of Columbus, Miss., Amy McKee Wooduff (Woody) of Mobile and Matthew Hudson McKee of Tuscaloosa; and six great-grandchildren, Julia Ashby Glidewell, Lane Ferrin Euer, Brennan McKee, Brody Allen Murphy, Braxton McKee and Tristan Woodruff. Mrs. McKee was born January 14, 1921, in Tallulah, Louisiana to the late William Menger Swoope and Elizabeth Prewitt Swoope. She was a member of Reform First Presbyterian Church, retired office manger for Pickens County Medical Center with 25 years of service and a well known resident of Pickens County. Pallbearers will be Steve Glidewell, Woody Woodruff, Barry Robertson, Mike Ellis, Jim Rich and Jason Rich. Honorary pallbearers are employees of the Homeplace of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 117-A Longwood Dr., Huntsville, AL 35801 or to the Reform First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 178, Reform, AL 35481.
