Travis E. McNeel of Tallulah, will be today at 2 p.m. in the Tallulah First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Col. McNeel died Friday, Jan. 5, 1990, in the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Fla. He was 89. Col. McNeel was a native of Lake, Miss., and a resident of Tallulah for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II, and was a retired Army colonel. Col. McNeel was a former entomologist with the U.S. Public Health Service and was past commander of American Legion Post 100. He was past president of S.A.R. and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a recipient of the alumni association's Man of the Year award. Col. McNeel was a past member of the Tallulah Mental Health Advisory Board and current president of Alumni Class of 1922 of Mississippi State University. He was also a member of the Tallulah First Presbyterian Church. Col. McNeel is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Weddell of Claireton, Penn. Pallbearers will be George Yerger III, Fred Mosley, Bill Ziegler, Jim Sevier Jr., Henry Sevier Jr., Carroll Crow, Danny Donald and David Donald. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr: L.P. Neumann, Dr. Preston Herring, William Wallace Zeigler, Jim Sevier Sr., Jack Milliken, Tommy Birchet, Jim Folk Sr., Jack Folk, Glenn Booth, Bobby Todd, Jim Tucker, Ralph Loe, Tommy Bishop, I.T. Crothers, M.W. McKinney, John Simpson and Billy Buckner.
