Mejias died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Promise Hospital of Vicksburg. She was 83. Mrs. Mejias was born in Harlingen, Texas, and had lived in Madison Parish for 46 years. She was a retired homemaker and certified nursing assistant. She is survived by three sons, Joe G. Mejias of Hampton, Ga., Manuel Mejias of Somerville, Texas, and Jessie M. Mejias of Tallulah; three daughters, Mary M. McCory of Morton, Rebecca A. Tomberlin of Kannapolis, N.C., and Ruby A. “Sissy” Ford of Piedmont, Mo.; a brother, Fernando Pesina Mejias of Tupelo; and 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Saturday until the service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
