Nellie Faye Cromwell Mills - Madison Parish, Louisiana

Nellie Faye Cromwell Mills, age 86, died Sunday, February 17, 2013.
A native of Quebec, LA and longtime resident of Smyrna, she was preceded in
death by her parents, William Fletcher Cromwell and Fannie Mae Bennett. She was
also preceded in death by her husband, Joel Thomas Mills, Sr. and two sisters,
Eunice Wood and Willie Mae Moore.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at Mapleview Cemetery.
Kevin M. Tipps will officiate. Visitation with the family will begin Tuesday at
1:30 p.m., at Mapleview Cemetery.
Mrs. Nell is survived by her son, Joel Thomas Mills, Jr. of Santa Monica, CA;
daughters, Debra Brandon of Smyrna, and Teresa Palmer and her husband Myron of
Smyrna; six grandchildren, Emily Meikle and her husband Robert of Smyrna, John
Wesley Brandon III and his wife Megan of Houston, TX, Whitney Powell and her
husband Cade of Broken Arrow, OK, Joel Wills Brandon and his wife Sara of
American Fork, UT, Lauren Jennings and her husband Paschal of Smyrna, Abby
Palmer of Nashville; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nell was a member of Kedron United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife
of 39 years and was a strong willed independent business woman who started working
in the (beauty industry) hair salon business some 60 years ago, owning and
operating several shops in Smyrna and Nashville. Mr. Joel and Mrs. Nell were
great dancers and were loved by many. Mrs. Nell was known by many as Meme.
John Wesley Brandon III, Joel Wills Brandon, James Myron Palmer, Joel Thomas
Mills Jr, Paschal Sims Jennings and Robert Ted Meikle will serve as
Pallbearers.
