Moore - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 15, 1959 Services Held For Mr. And Mrs. Moore Mrs. Charlie Moore, 39, died last Thursday, May 7 of a bullet wound inflicted when her husband, Charlie Moore, 45, was shot to death in the bedroom of their farm home. Mrs. Moore died in a Shreveport hospital. Charlie Holmes, 66-year-old lodger at the Moore home, six miles west of Tallulah on the Bear Lake Road, has been charged with murder after an inquest into Moore's death. Mrs. Geneva Isaac, 22-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moore, told officers Holmes emerged from the couple's bedroom with a pistol in his hand. She and another daughter, Carlene, 13, fought with Holmes until they knocked him unconscious, then escaped with a third daughter and Mrs. Isaac's baby boy to a neighbor's house to notify officers. Double funeral services were held at 2 p. in. last Friday at the Crothers Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery. Survivors, other than Mrs. Isaac and Carlene Moore, include three other daughters, Barbara, Mildred and Edith, all of Tallulah; three sons, Charles, J. W., and Joe Moore, all of Tallulah, and one grandchild. Mr. Moore is also survived by his father, Frank Moore of Bastrop, and two brothers, Dave Moore, Tallulah, and Felix Moore of Bastrop. Mrs. Moore's survivors are her mother, Mrs. F. C. Freeman of Tallulah; four brothers, Hilton, Decatur and Roan, all of Tallulah, and Rayford Freeman of Rayville; four sisters, Mrs. John Scott, Mound, Mrs. Herbert Scott, Mer Rouge, Mrs. Ed Dean, Mound, and Mrs. Richard Redditt of Vicksburg, Miss.
