Crawford Williams officiating for 17-month-old James Stewart Morgan, Jr. of Quebec. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. The Morgan child was killed in an accident Monday. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart Morgan, Sr., of Quebec; his sister, Kelly Lynn Morgan, of Quebec; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Morgan of Quebec; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Eubanks of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Charles Rhynehart, Larry Black, Guy Williams and Sam Scurria III. Two residents killed in vehicle accidents Two Madison Parish residents were killed in separate accidents this week. A farm worker was killed in an accident on a tractor at a farm shed on East Bear Lake Road Friday morning and a 17-month old boy was killed in a driveway accident Monday morning. Madison Parish Coroner Dr. Thomas A. Neumann said a man identified by Madison Parish Sheriff's officials as Douglas Powell Jr., about 52-years-old, of Rt. 1, Sondheimer was killed in an accident about 8:40 a.m. Friday after refueling a tractor while working for John Bedgood, also of Sondheimer. Neumann said Powell apparently accidentally put the tractor into a forward gear which caused it to run into then start climbing over a fuel tank trailer. He said the man was crushed between a tractor drive wheel and the trailer when he tried to get down or was thrown from the tractor. Sheriff's deputy Hersel Henson said James Stewart Morgan, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart Morgan, Sr., of Quebec, apparently died instantly when the right front wheel of a four-wheel drive pickup driven by his father ran over him. Henson said the child was pronounced dead on the scene by the family doctor and Assistant Coroner, Dr. Jacob Storey. Henson reported Morgan as saying he had started forward to leave the driveway when he saw his wife wave and scream. The deputy said the poor forward vision afforded by the height of the four-wheel drive vehicle apparently prevented Morgan seeing the child run in front of the truck. Funeral services for Powell and the Morgan child were held Tuesday.
