All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Thelma Katherine Morse - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post December 15, 2008 Ms. Thelma Katherine Morse, 93, went home to live with her savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 14, 2008. She had resided in the Olive Branch Nursing Home in Tallulah for the past eight years. She was a most gracious lady who loved and was loved by all her family and friends. She was born June 15, 1915, at Conn in Copiah County, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Preston and Bertha Alma Thedford Morse; a sister, Virginia Mae Morse Mallery; brothers, Robert Rufus Morse, Henry Lamar Morse, Morton Elgin Morse and Benjamin Ellis Morse. Ms. Morse was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1934 and completed nursing training at the Mississippi State Training Hospital in Jackson in 1937. She received her nurse anesthetist degree in New Orleans. She worked many years in Miami, Fla., as a nurse anesthetist before returning to Mississippi and working as an R.N. at Mercy Hospital for 20 years. Survivors are her sisters, Lucille M. Curtis Clark and husband Bill of Vicksburg and Evelyn M. Brown of Great Falls, Mont.; brother, Preston Delinn Morse and wife Lavada of Brookhaven; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Shelia Curtis Prince and husband Jay, Timmy Curtis and wife Tina and Joe Curtis and wife Evelyn, all of Vicksburg. Pallbearers will be Timmy Curtis, Joe Curtis Jr., Jay Prince, Christopher Moore, Kenneth Prince, Cameron Curtis and Channing Curtis. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Yokena Cemetery with the Revs. Marvin Curtis and Seth Brown officiating.
