Morton Sr - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 14, 1925 Thursday night Mr. A. W. Morton died at his home in Tallulah following a hemorrhage of the brain, which started yesterday afternoon. Mr. Morton had been in ill health for some time, having made several trips to specialists in Memphis Tenn., and recently had appeared somewhat improved. Mr. Morton came to Tallulah several years ago as manager of the Tallulah Mercantile Company. When several months ago the Tallulah Mercantile Company was absorbed by D. H. Allen, Mr. Morton, even though in ill health, opened a small dry goods store in the building of the Peoples' Grocery Co. where he was in business at the time of his death. His death follows that of his wife only a few years, who was killed in an automobile accident. He is survived by his mother, who has been in Tallulah with him, and three children, Madge, Harry Don and Arthur, and other relatives. He has many friends in Tallulah who mourn his loss.
