Murphy - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post February 19, 2014 TALLULAH, La. — Norman E. Murphy died Feb. 17, 2014, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 85. Mr. Murphy was born in Ida, La., and had lived most of his life in Charleston, S.C. He was in the U. S. Air Force for 27 years and was a master sergeant. After retirement, he taught at South Carolina Technical College in Charleston for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Bruce Murphy of Tallulah; two sons, Lloyd Nolan Murphy and Paul Tracy Murphy, both of Tallulah; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Windham of Vicksburg. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb.20, 2014, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Reid officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
