All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Joan Loftin Newton - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Cox Funeral Home Delhi, LA December 24, 2017 Joan Loftin Newton Tallulah, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Hammons Loftin Newton 72 of Tallulah formerly of Delhi will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Harmony Baptist Church south of Delhi with Rev. Russell Caldwell and Rev. Dale Mercer officiating. Visitation will be held at Harmony Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in the Faith Memorial Park Cemetery south of Delhi under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. Joan was born on January 6, 1945 in Franklin Parish, LA and finished her earthly journey and passed to her Heavenly rewards on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Stoney Brook Assisted Living Center in West Monroe. Joan was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arhwee Benjamin Hammons and Audie Mae Chaudoin Hammons; her first husband Theron Franklin Loftin Jr. and a brother Larry Hammons. She is survived by her husband Ken Newton of Tallulah, LA; two children Lori Loftin Williams and husband Don of West Monroe, LA and Frank Loftin of Delhi, LA; four granddaughters Meagan Hatten and husband Jesse, Lauren Rinehart and husband Cody, Rachel Williams and Katelyn Loftin and 4 great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Douglas Hammons and wife Carolyn of Crowville, LA, Mary Griffing of Shreveport, LA and Robert "Buster Hammons", Carolynn Franks and husband J N, Nell Pennebaker and husband Pliney and Billy Earl Hammons and wife Sheila all of Delhi, LA; a sister-in-law Patsy Hammons of Delhi, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Scott Hammons, Mike Hammons, Todd Pennebaker, Rodney Pennebaker, Marlon Griffing, David Franks, Scott Sanders, Ben Hammons, William Loftin and Daniel Greer. Honorary pallbearer will be Myron Griffing.
