Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Marilyn Deloyce Morgan Nunnelee, age 81, of Tallulah, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021, at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Arkansas, with Bro. Mark Brown officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.

Marilyn was born November 2, 1940, in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, and entered her heavenly home on November 12, 2021, after a battle with pneumonia.

Marilyn graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas in Monticello and went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Tulane University in New Orleans. Throughout her 35 years of teaching, she was able to share her knowledge and love of math with students at Eudora High School in Eudora, Arkansas, and at Washington School in Greenville, Mississippi. She taught all levels of math from remedial classes to advanced calculus classes and was the Math Department Chairman for over 15 years. She delighted in the success of her students and even in retirement would tutor prior students for their college classes. Marilyn was a long-time active member of Scott United Methodist Church of Eudora where she held various roles. She enjoyed being an involved member of her community, helping where needed, and spent time as City Clerk in Eudora. Marilyn also loved traveling with friends, especially with her dear friend, Barbara Brandon. Their travels took them to many destinations around the country and abroad. She truly enjoyed spending time with her loved ones especially her grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Harlan E. Nunnelee; her parents, H.B. and Bertie Morgan; and her sister, Janice Bettencourt.

Devoted family members who will cherish her memory include her sons, Dr. Christopher Nunnelee and wife Carolyn of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Kevin Scott Nunnelee and wife Elizabeth of Delhi, Louisiana, and Kendall Trent Nunnelee and wife Emily of Monroe, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Graham Nunnelee, Gabrielle Nunnelee, Gretchen Nunnelee, Griffin Nunnelee, Allison Nunnelee, Kathryn Nunnelee, and Lauren Nunnelee; two nieces, Deidre Dickinson and Kathy Cain and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Graham Nunnelee, Griffin Nunnelee, Joe Serio, Lindy Brown, Shelby Lowery, and Mark Cashion.

The family would like to give special appreciation to her caregivers at Legacy Nursing home and physicians and nurses at Madison Parish Hospital for their attentiveness over the past nine years.
