OGBOURNE OF TALLULAH DIES TALLULAH, Oct. 1-Mrs. Emmie Ogbourne, 64, widow of the late Dr. G. H. Ogbourne, died at her home here late Monday afternoon after an illness of several months. She had resided in Madison parish since early childhood. She was a member of the Episcopal church. Funeral services will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the home. Mrs. Ogbourne is survived by one sister, Mrs. W. F. Craig, of Tallulah, and a brother, Covington Monette, of Shreveport. From Madison Journal October 4, 1935 Mrs. Ogbourne Dies At Home Monday Evening Mrs. Emmie Monette Ogbourne died on Monday evening at 6:30 in her home in Tallulah. Mrs. Ogbourne was born in Jefferson County, Miss., in 1871, coming to Tallulah in her early childhood when she lived on Arlington Plantation and attended the parish school. She married Dr. G. H. Ogbourne in 1910, living in Tallulah where Dr. Ogbourne was mayor for a number of years. A member of the Episcopal Church, she was an active member. Mrs. Ogbourne enjoyed social life and was a part of all social activities during her life. She was 64 years old at the time of her death, which occurred after several months of severe illness. Funeral services were held from her home on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Rev. Skardon D' Aubert officiating. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery amid a large gathering of friends and many floral offerings. Mrs. Ogbourne is survived by two sisters, Mrs. W. S. Craig of Tallulah, and Mrs. E. F. Brakefield of Shreveport; three brothers, A. C. Monette of Shreveport, Julian Monette of Jackson, Miss., and A. G. Monette of Baton Rouge; four nephews, Frank and Emmit Craig of Tallulah, A. C. Monette, Jr., and John R. Monette of Shreveport.
