Ogden - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal February 8, 1952 Funeral Services For John A. Ogden Held Here Monday P. M. Mr. John A. Ogden, life-time resident of Madison Parish, died Sunday, February 3rd at the Delhi Clinic, after a lengthy illness. He was 83 years of age. He had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Tallulah. A native of Franklin County, Miss., Mr. Ogden at one time had been a logging contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Tallulah at two o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Shirley Briggs, officiating. Interment followed in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were L. C. Erwin, Wilson Stevenson, Albert Walker, F. B. Stegal, T. J. Lott and I. C. Byrd. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Tallulah ; Mrs. Rose Higginbotham, Delhi; Mrs. T. H. Allison, Gulfport, Miss.; Mrs. R. A. Lott, Tallulah; Mrs., Cecil Chavelia, Long Beach, calif.; four sons, Cammie Ogden, Delhi; Johnnie Ogden, Tallulah; Ernest Ogden, Steve Ogden, both of Delhi; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Ahrender, Alcorn, Miss.; Mrs. Tom Linney, Monroe; 30 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
