Owens - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal February 26, 1970 Drowning Victim Buried Here On Wednesday Funeral services for Willie J. Owens, 47, of Vicksburg, Miss. were held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Crothers Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. Cletes Harris officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Owens, a deck hand for a towing company in Lake Charles was reported missing February 3. His body was found Sunday in Calcasieu Canal at Lake Charles, an apparent victim of drowning. Survivors include his widow. Mrs. Vivian Ruth Owens of Vicksburg, two daughters, Misses Linda Owens and Susie Owens; three sons, Billy Owens, Bobby Owens and Michael Owens, all of Haywood, Calif., his father, Luther Owens of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Mary Blair of Russellville, Arkansas, and Mrs. Bobbie Jean Brock of Vicksburg; and one brother, H. A. Owens of Haywood. Pallbearers were James Jobe, Tommy Jobe, Ray Jobe.
