Packer - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 16, 1969 Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Dan A. Packer Funeral services for Dan A. Packer, 71, who died Sunday morning In the Madison Parish Hospital after a brief illness, were held Tuesday morning at 9 a. m. in Crothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Burial followed at Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton at 2 p. m. He was a native of Franklinton and had resided in Madison Parish for the past 46 years. He was a retired millwright, a member of the Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War I and the American Legion. Survivors include two stepsons Aubrey E. Floyd of Baton Rouge, and Tommy Floyd; one daughter Mrs. Edwena Hall of Greenville, Miss.; one brother, Emmitt Packer of Amite; one sister, Mrs. Nanie Vaughn of Kentwood; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were W. C. Dunning Carroll Deweese, A. D. Hattaway, Jack Bowden, J. H. Ramshur and Herbert Jones. of Tallulah.
