Packer - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 30, 1966 Funeral Services for Mrs. Packer Held Thursday Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel M. Packer, 65, who died at her home here early Wednesday after a long illness, were held Thursday at 2:30 p. m. at Shiloh Baptist Church near Brookhaven, Miss., with the Rev. C. E. Hedgepeth officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Packer was a native of Mississippi but had been a resident of Madison Parish for the past 36 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Dan Packer, Tallulah ; two sons, Thomas E. Floyd, South Carolina, and Aubrey Floyd of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Hall, Jr., Greenville, Miss; five brothers, J. E. Evans, Beaumont, Texas; G. H. Evans, Monroe; H. E. Evans, Lake Providence; W. E. Evans, West Monroe; L. R. Evans, McGhee, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. U. E. Miller, Monroe; Mrs. L. R. Jarrill, Brookhaven, Miss.; eight grand-children. Pallbearers were Tommy Evans, George Evans, Danny Hall, Frank E. Evans, Dick Evans and Benny Miller.
