Paris - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 9, 1976 Funeral services for John S. Paris, 32, of Tallulah were held Thursday in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Rainey and Dave Rovell officiating . Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Paris died last Tuesday afternoon at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. after a long illness. A Vicksburg native, he had been a Tallulah resident for 12 years. He was employed by the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 10 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America, of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge W. H Stevens No. 121 F.A.M. Surviving are his widow, Rita Kays Paris of Tallulah; a son, Greg Paris of Tallulah; a daughter, Sheila Kaye Paris of Tallulah; his step mother, Mrs. Lillie Paris of Vicksburg, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Katie Velchoff of San Antonio, Tex. and two brothers, Fred Paris of Baton Rouge and Robert Lewis Paris of Crossville, Ala. Masonic graveside rites were held. Pallbearers were Louis B. Nettles, N. W. Day, Rusty Barnes, Joe Christ, Keith Keen and Pete Buford.
