Parker - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal July 12, 2000 Funeral services for Mr. David D. Parker, 39, were held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Ledbetter officiating. Burial followed in Lee Memorial Park. Mr. Parker died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at the University of Tennessee-Bowlds Medical Center in Memphis after a long illness. He was born Dec. 2, 1960, in Delhi, La., to the late A. G. Parker and Lois Hill Finlayson. He moved from Tallulah to Lee County in 1977. He was employed more than 15 years in the family grocery business, B&L Grocery in Verona. He was a member of East Heights Baptist Church in Tupelo. Ile was an avid birdwatcher, a member of the Audubon Society and participated in the state of Mississippi Bird Christmas Count. He enjoyed all sports. Survivors include his wife: Charlotte, of Tupelo; one son: Cory B. Parker of the home; his mother: Lois Hill Finlayson of Verona; one sister, Sylvia Rugg, and her husband, John of West Monroe; two stepsisters: Billye Jo and Sara Ann Finlayson of Tallulah; one stepbrother: Charles Finlayson of Tallulah; his grandmother: Delta Hill of Tallulah. He was preceded in death by his father; and his stepfather, Bill Finlayson. Pallbearers were Mark Sanders, Craig Sanders, Wayne Riddle, Steve Webb, Allen Jolley and Chuck McCullough.
