Parker - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 28, 1976 Two Tallulah men Killed in weekend airplane crash Two Tallulah men were killed early Saturday evening when their single engine airplane crashed in a wooded area near Grand Lake in Avoyelles Parish, according to state police. The bodies of Joe P. Parker, 49, pilot of the plane, and Bobby E. Rinicker, 43, were found about 11 p.m. Saturday by searchers in their Cessna 182 in a swampy, wooded area about 10 miles from the Mississippi River. The men were returning to Tallulah from St. Francisville when the accident occurred, but the exact cause of the crash hasn't been determined. According to a preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Agency, however, there was no apparent engine failure. The Concordia Parish Sheriff's department received a call at 8:30 p.m. Saturday from an unidentified man who said he heard the plane go down at the north end of the lake. Volunteers from the Concordia Parish Rescue Team and persons living in the area as well as the Concordia and Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's department participated in the search for the plane. Funeral services for Bobby Eugene Rinicker were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Frank Shields and J. D. Harvey officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence. He was a native of the Elmwood Community and a resident of Tallulah for the past three years. He owned and operated the Two Mile Inn in Tallulah and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Vidor, Tex. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Frances Juanita Lewis Rinicker of Tallulah; his father, Bennett Rinicker of Monroe; his mother, Mrs. Ora Rinicker of Lake Providence, two sons, Timmy Rinicker of Tallulah and Randy Rinicker of Delhi; one step-son, Milton Stanfield of Tallulah; one daughter, Miss Rita Faye Rinicker of Tallulah; one brother, James Rinicker of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Wiggins of Lake Providence and Mrs. Rena Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; three half-brothers, James Rinicker, Roy Rinicker and Kenneth Rinicker, all of Tallulah; one half-sister, Miss Debbie Rinicker of Tallulah and one step-grandchild. Pallbearers were Ross Murphy, Crawford Rose, Donnie Powers, Billy Keller, Carl Coleman and Gene Johnson. Funeral services for Joe P. Parker were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Crawford Williams and Tommy Beard officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. He was a native of Philadelphia, Miss., a resident of Tallulah for the past four years and a pipeline contractor. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Francis Parker of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. P. T. Schauf of West Monroe and Mrs. Ralph Guthry of Newellton; two brothers, Cliff Parker of Port Gibson, Miss. and Morris Parker of Clinton, Miss. and one sister, Mrs. Marian de Vries of Baton Rouge. Pallbearers were Billy Ray Arender, Gale Beard, A. V. Sharpe, Milner Wells, Larry Wells and Harold Dean Grady.
