All rights reserved. ************************************************ Saniford Lee Parker Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, February 22, 2004 TALLULAH — Saniford Lee Parker Sr. died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Santa Rosa Beach Hospital in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. He was 91. Mr. Parker was born in Ringgold, La., and moved to Madison Parish in 1938. He served in the 181st Artillery during World War II and then returned to Madison Parish, where he farmed for 40 years. He was a member of Willow Bayou Baptist Church and was a deacon for many years. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Pearl Parker; two brothers, A.G. Parker and Winfred Parker; three sisters, Dollie Wiggins, Emma Wiggins and Ruby Hall; and one daughter, Patricia Parker. He is survived by his wife, Irma Wilson Parker; three daughters, Geniece Piercy of Bastrop, La., Dorothea Long of Vicksburg and Sharon Williamson of Santa Rosa Beach; four sons, S.L. Parker Jr. of Santa Rosa Beach, Martin Parker of Albuquerque, N.M., Calvin Parker of Orlando, Fla., and Kirby Parker of Cibolo, Texas; three sisters, Doris Gunn of Tallulah, Laneda Holder of Newellton and Norene Freeman of Homer; one brother, Clarence Parker of Northeast, Md.; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Willow Bayou Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home and from 10:30 until noon Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Robert Keyes, Lane Rhodes, Walter White, Horace Russell, Donnie Remore, Quentin Purvis and Wayne McKnight.
