Pemberton, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 6, 1962 Final Rites for J. O. Pemberton, Sr., Held Tuesday Morning Funeral services for James Ora Pemberton, 77, who died Sunday night at his residence following a heart attack, were held Tuesday morning at 10 a. m. in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home. A native of Evansville, Indiana, he had lived in Madison Parish for the past 25 years. He was a logging contractor. The Rev. Wilson Watson officiated with burial following in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Survivors include three sons, J. O. Pemberton, Jr., Martin Pemberton and Billy Pemberton, all of Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Pedago, Mauldon, Mo., and Mrs. Stella Austin, Pampa, Texas; and a brother, W. A. Pemberton of Orange, Texas. Pallbearers were William Williams, J. P. McClure, Tom Bradley, Bob Horton, Tommy Leoty, Bobby Antley, Billy Keller and Boone Halbach.
