A. Pemberton Funeral services were held at 3:00 p. m. Tuesday for William Arvin Pemberton, 84, who died early Monday at his residence, after a long illness. Services were conducted in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hurt officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Pemberton was a native of Evansville, Ind., and had resided in Madison Parish for 25 years. He was a retired logging contractor. Survivors include a son, Alphus Pemberton, Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Morine Perry, Iraan, Texas, and Mrs. Pauline Kimbrough, Uvalde, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Pedigo, Malden, Mo., and Mrs. Stella Austin, Pampa, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were J. O. Pemberton, Billy Pemberton, Martin Pemberton, Harry Vilardo, and Billy Keller.
