All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Phillip Louis Perkins Madison Parish, LA From The Monroe News-Star (LA), Thursday, April 6, 1967 TALLULAH (Special) - Funeral services for Phillip Louis Perkins, Tallulah policeman who was killed in an automobile accident Tuesday night, were at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. John Hurt officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery under direction of First National Funeral Home. Perkins was driving a car that overturned several times on U.S. 65 south of Tallulah. Injured in the mishap was another Tallulah policeman, Capt. Harold Ogden, who remained in Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, Miss. Perkins was killed near the same spot where Tallulah Police Chief Jimmy Rogan and three other men died in a two-car crash three weeks ago. Perkins had been a member of the Tallulah police force for three and one-half years. He was a member of the Louisiana Peace Officers Association, and the Municipal Peace Officers Association. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ester Perkins; daughter, Phyllis, all of Tallulah; parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Perkins, Gulfport, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Clemons, Bossier City. Pallbearers were Clayton Cox, Carl Griffin, D'Elmer Williamson, Archie Altman, Donald Hodge and Madison Hattaway.
