He was born in Natchitoches, La., March, 7th. 1875, the son of Edward L. Pierson and Harriet Martin Biossat. For a number of years he made his home in Alexandria, La., but for the past thirteen years has been a resident of Madison Parish, following the pursuit of farming. He was the founder in this Parish of the Federal Farm Loan Association, believing that after the overflow of 1912 followed by the visitation of the boll weevil, the planter needed timely assistance, and to this end he gave his services freely. He is survived by his widow, Harriet Hurlburt Pierson, one brother W. H. Pierson and a sister, Miss Florence Pierson. Funeral services were held from the home of his brother, with the Rev. Edward Fannin Haywood of the Episcopal church of Monroe, officiating. Services at the grave were conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Tallulah, he having been a member of Oliver Lodge and Trinity Commandery of Alexandria. In his death we lose an upright and honorable citizen, a kind and loyal friend.
