Donald S. Piper, 91, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on April 10, 2018.

 

Mr. Piper was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on July 3, 1926 to the late Max and Nelle Piper. He graduated from Ripley High School in Ripley, Tennessee and served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

 

Following his years of service, Donald married the late Glenda Sturdivant Piper. Donald and Glenda raised their only daughter, Donna, in the Memphis area. Mr. Piper was heavily involved in the trucking industry and in later life served as the former Vice President of Continental Traffic Services, a company he helped to start. Donald enjoyed gardening, was passionate about his job, and a loving father and grandfather.

 

Donald is survived by his daughter, Donna Hunt (Ken), and his grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Hunt.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 or Alzheimer's Tennessee, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 14 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38119.
