All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Cornelia Lane Plauche - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 5, 1987 Funeral services for Mrs. Cornelia Lane Plauche, 94, were at 11 a.m. July 27 at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles with Rev. Henry Bowdon officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mrs. Plauche died July 25. She was a native of Tallulah and had been a resident of Lake Charles since 1921. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught in the Sunday School for more than 50 years. She was also active in a number of organizations, including the Review Club and Enterprise Club, the Community Concert Association and the DAR. In 1966, Mrs. Plauche was honored as the Louisiana Mother of the Year. Survivors include one son, A. Lane Plauche of Lake Charles; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ruth Plauche of Austin; eight grand-children; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Plauche was the sister of the late Mrs. Ruth Read and Mrs. Sybil Williams of Tallulah. of Parkview Baptist Church.
