All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Jacqueline Powell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 23, 1992 Funeral services for Mrs. Jacqueline Powell, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tallulah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Harrod officiating. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg under direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. She died Wednesdays Sept. 16 in Carbondale, Ill. Mrs. Powell was a former employee of the Corps of Engineers as secretary to the real estate director Mississippi River Commission, Lower Mississippi Valley Division. She was a charter member of the National Secretaries Association, Vicksburg Chapter. She was president of the Tallulah Home Gardeners, past Worthy Matron District, Deputy Grand Matron and Grand Representative, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Madison Parish Chapter No. 94, Order of Eastern Star and the Tallulah Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Grace Johanson and Michelle Johanson, both of Carbondale, Robert Johanson, Karen Johanson, James Johanson, Seth Johanson and Michael Johanson, all of Mangham, Jack Johanson of Oak Grove, Miriam Cryer, Becky Thompson, Paul Varino and Caroline Varino, all of Monroe. Pallbearers were Robert Johanson, Jack Johanson, Richard Lively, Paul Nettles, John Ulmer, Edward Powell and E. M. Midyett.
