All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Lenora Hebert Powell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 1, 1952 Mrs. Lenora Hebert Powell, Succumbs In Vicksburg Thursday Final Rites To Be Held Friday Afternoon At The Methodist Church Mrs. Lenora Hebert Powell, life time resident of Tallulah, died Thursday morning at 4:30 at a Vicksburg hospital following a lingering illness. She was 47 years of age. A native of this community, Mrs. Powell was a member of a well known family. She was the wife of William F. Powell, owner of Powell Tractor and Powell Motor Company, Tallulah. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon (today) at three o'clock at the First Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with the pastor, Rev. A. A. McKnight, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be E. E. Shamblin, T. J. Smith, Odo Cagnolatti, Claude T. Searles, G. R. Whetstone and John Frank Olvey. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Richard Powell, Tallulah; her mother, Mrs. Gussie Slack Hebert, Tallulah, and one brother, Claude H. Hebert, Jacksonville, Fla. Her body will remain at Young's Funeral Home until 1:00 P. M., Friday, when it will be taken to the Methodist Church, where it will lie in state for two hours before services.
