All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Aline Hopkins Powers - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 9, 1981 Services for Mrs. Aline Hopkins Powers, 64, were at 9 p m Monday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Stone officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Powers died Friday in M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston after a long illness. She was a native of Mississippi, lived in Tallulah for many years and was a housewife. Survivors include three sons, J. W. Powers Jr. and Andrew Powers, both of Tallulah, and Donald Powers of Odgen, Ark.; three daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Bamburg of Winnfield, Joan Powers of Tallulah, and Mrs. Reba Cooper of Monroe; her mother, Mrs. Carrie B. Hopkins of Tallulah; five brothers, George Hopkins John C. Hopkins Sr., and William I. Hopkins, all of Tallulah, Ernest C. Hopkins of New Iberia, and Rhada Hopkins of Vicksburg, Miss. ; five sisters, Mrs. Josephine Capke of Monterey, Mrs. Katie Frey of Shreveport, Mrs. Mary Bowen and Mrs. Fannie Mae Tyler, both of Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Minnie Collins of Monroe; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Bunch, J.W. Reeves, Buford White, Albert Fondren, Alfred Holmes and Jerry Copes.
