All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************************************************** Verna Joan Powers Madison Parish, LA June 30, 1942 ~ September 2, 2021 (age 79) From Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home September 5, 2021 Verna Joan Powers, age 79, of Pineville, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. Joan was born June 30, 1942, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and lived with her family in Tallulah, Louisiana, until 1981 when she moved to Delta Haven Nursing Home in Tallulah where she lived until 1986. At that time, she became a resident of Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield, Louisiana. In 2008, Joan relocated to Pinecrest Support and Services Center in Pineville, Louisiana, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. “Wright” Powers, Sr. and Aline Hopkins Powers, and two brothers, Ellis Edwin Powers and Donald Wayne Powers. She is survived by two brothers, J.W. “Sonny” Powers, Jr. (Catherine) and Fredrick “Booby” Powers (Kathy); two sisters, Jeanette Bamburg (the late Jerald Bamburg) and Reba Cooper (William); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends may visit with the family at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah with Bro. Jay Parker of First Baptist Church Tallulah officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenny Powers, Donnie Powers, Bo Powers, Pete Powers, Jay Bamburg, Keith Powers, and Drew Powers.
