Graveside services for Mr. William C. Purdy Jr., age 89, of Tallulah will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, 
Aug. 13, in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, with the Rev. Lauren Moore officiating.

Mr. Purdy died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, in the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Natchez, Miss., and had lived in Tallulah for 60 years. He was a retired employee of the 
Madison Journal newspaper. He was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Marvin C. Whitfield of Tallulah; and his nephew, Charles M. Whitfield 
of Winona, Miss.

Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah is in charge of arrangements.
