Former Resident Dies Saturday In Alabama

Funeral service for Edgar Thomas Purnell, 64, who died suddenly at 10 a. m. in Florence, Alabama 
of a heart attack was held at 3 p. m. on Monday.

Mr. Purnell formerly lived in Tallulah; He graduated at Tallulah High School in 1918 and was 
Valedictorian of his class. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, an electrical engineer and a Mason.

He is survived by his widow, the former Erin Pickens Elliott, Florence, Alabama; one sister, 
Mrs. T. W. Hendrix, Columbia, La.; one brother, William R. Purnell.
